Latest GA Autonomous Jet Demo Features Live Air-to-Air Engagement Capability

SAN DIEGO, CA, July 18, 2025 - (ACN Newswire via SeaPRwire.com) - General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) and General Atomics Integrated Intelligence, Inc. (GA-Intelligence) successfully completed a groundbreaking demonstration on July 8, integrating technologies across multiple affiliates to showcase long-range kill chain effects, including an autonomous air-to-air engagement. The flight integrated local and global sensor fusion to deliver real-time situational awareness and autonomous tasking to an airborne MQ-20 Avenger® through the Tactical Autonomy Core Ecosystem (TacACE) to close the kill chain and showcase the system's maturity and operational readiness for the warfighter. The event featured the integration of a Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA), a fully compliant government-owned autonomy implementation, and beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) Command and Control (C2). The MQ-20 unmanned jet, furnished by GA-ASI, acted as a CCA surrogate in a sensor Emission Control (EMCON) environment. It was operated autonomously and controlled using distributed-edge C2 nodes powered by Optix.C2 and Omniview software. Optix.C2, a product from General Atomics-Intelligence, provided low-latency, localized C2 functionality while remaining networked to the broader operational picture, enabling real-time coordination across multiple domains.Dr. Brian Ralston, President of GA-Intelligence, applauded the joint effort. "This demonstration illustrates the value of integrating cutting-edge and proven technologies across the GA enterprise. The Optix data platform and C2 capability enable rapid integration and experimentation to address critical DoD and IC needs."General Atomics successfully fused space-based sensing and tactical sensing with the C2 node during the flight, giving the aircraft access to a complete real-time threat picture for enhanced onboard autonomous decision-making. The demonstration also included live coordination of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and kinetic tasking through a unified operator interface capable of deployment in virtually any cloud environment.During the exercise, the live MQ-20 aircraft autonomously patrolled a designated Combat Air Patrol (CAP) zone, leveraging off-board sensors to demonstrate how passive collection techniques can inform autonomous platforms in real time. Four CCA surrogates - one live and three virtual - were directed by an operator to investigate multiple targets of interest. Upon identifying them as threats, the operator issued a command to initiate the BLOS engagement. The autonomous systems maneuvered into position, simulated missile launches, assessed battle damage, and returned to CAP without additional operator input."This demonstration represents a substantial leap in autonomy and human-machine interfaces that are critical to the warfighter in the near-peer fight," said Michael Atwood, Vice President of Advanced Programs at GA-ASI. "By integrating Optix.C2 with TacACE, we're delivering a system that not only operates at the tactical edge but also enables rapid decision-making and execution across the battlespace. This is the future of warfare - scalable, autonomous systems that empower the warfighter to dominate at range."GA-ASI continues to develop and validate autonomy products that deliver scalable, collaborative aircraft behavior with minimal operator input. GA-Intelligence provided multi-sensor global fusion and engagement orchestration algorithms and interfaces. This latest milestone expands the company's autonomy portfolio with access to a complete threat picture while advancing critical-edge C2 capabilities and intuitive operator interfaces.About GA-ASIGeneral Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. is the world's foremost builder of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). A New Transatlantic Partnership for European CCA ACN Newswire

A New Transatlantic Partnership for European CCA

FAIRFORD, UK, July 18, 2025 - (ACN Newswire via SeaPRwire.com) - General Atomics is taking a bold step toward rapidly delivering a European Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) - based on a mature U.S. platform, assembled in Europe, with European mission systems - by aligning its independent U.S. and German aerospace affiliates under a teamed operation.YFQ-42AThe new aircraft is derived from the U.S. Air Force's YFQ-42A prototype, currently in ground testing and scheduled for first flight later this summer, designed and built by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) in San Diego, Calif. European mission system customization and manufacturing in Europe will be supported by General Atomics' German aerospace affiliate, General Atomics Aerotec Systems GmbH (GA-ATS), headquartered in Oberpfaffenhofen, near Munich.Leveraging the prior investments of these established aerospace companies on both sides of the Atlantic provides a jump start for European uncrewed fighter development and a pathway to meet the speedy acquisition timelines set by European nations. It also provides an established path for further international collaboration efforts and indigenous defense partnerships, based on both companies' previous successes in global aircraft delivery."We're eager to combine our uncrewed aircraft system expertise with the airborne sensor and weapons system expertise of the European defense industry, starting with our own affiliate GA Aerotec Systems GmbH in Germany," said GA-ASI CEO Linden Blue. "With a proven CCA design already in production today, these systems will be delivered in significant quantity with high-technology European inputs to build and sustain affordable mass for NATO's fighter forces."GA-ASI is the world's foremost builder of unmanned aerial systems, delivering more than 1,200 aircraft over three decades and supporting a net fleet operation approaching 9 million flight hours. The company has pioneered three types of unmanned combat jets, including the groundbreaking MQ-20 Avenger® (2009) and the U.S. Air Force's XQ-67A Off-Board Sensing Station (2024). Its YFQ-42A fighter was rapidly developed from the XQ-67A baseline and is expected to fly only 18 months after its predecessor.International collaboration is a significant focus for General Atomics. GA-ASI aircraft are flown by the US, the U.K., Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, Japan, India and many other customers around the world. GA-ASI's high-value supply chain for UAS extends deeply into these partner nations, where major airframe components, subsystems, and complete sensor payloads are manufactured.GA-ATS is a German aircraft manufacturing and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul company. Aircraft have been manufactured and serviced on the company site for more than 40 years. The company conducts MRO on NH-90 helicopters for the German military; builds, sustains, and modifies the Do-228 multi-role aircraft; and performs engine overhaul on the TPE-331-10 turboprop engine, common to both Do-228 and MQ-9A/B unmanned aircraft.A new Collaborative Combat Aircraft for Europe, leveraging the YFQ-42A baseline, will benefit from these previous successes, Blue explained."European nations are essential and irreplaceable allies for the United States and our company," he said. "We will supply a mature aircraft baseline already well along in its development, and we'll look forward to German and other European national partnerships to bring these aircraft online in European and NATO air forces as the Continent grows a new generation of highly capable defense systems."About GA-ASIGeneral Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. is the world's foremost builder of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Hitachi, global investment firm Brookfield, and global commodities trading firm Hartree Begin to Explore a Funding Scheme in the Environmentally-friendly Digital Infrastructure Sector

TOKYO, July 17, 2025 - (JCN Newswire via SeaPRwire.com) - Hitachi, Ltd. (hereafter “Hitachi”), Brookfield Japan Kabushiki Kaisha (the Japanese subsidiary of global investment firm Brookfield, hereafter “Brookfield”), and Hartree Partners Singapore Pte. Limited (hereafter “Hartree”), known for its strength in commodity trading, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 17 to jointly explore the development of digital infrastructure in Japan.Image of environmentally-friendly digital infrastructureUnder this MoU, the three companies will jointly explore funding schemes to meet capital needs for the development of grid-scale storage batteries to support grid stabilization and large-scale digital infrastructure that require substantial amounts of electricity in Japan. In this consideration, they will combine Hitachi’s comprehensive engineering capabilities in designing, building, and operating infrastructure in the energy and digital sectors, as well as the expertise of Lumada*1 in accelerating digital innovation, Brookfield Group’s extensive experience investing in and operating large-scale infrastructure globally such as data centers and other digital infrastructure assets, and Hartree’s expertise in renewable project development and commodities trading in the energy sector including electricity, LNG and carbon. Moving forward, by building an ecosystem with a wide range of partners utilizing this funding scheme, they aim to promote the use of decarbonization technologies and digital technologies, and realize environmentally-friendly digital infrastructure that enables sustainable economic growth.*1 Lumada refers to Hitachi’s advanced digital solutions, services, and technologies for turning data into insights to drive digital innovation.BackgroundTo achieve a decarbonized society, mechanisms to stabilize electricity supply and demand in response to fluctuations in renewable energy output are essential. Additionally, with the rapid proliferation of generative AI and cloud services in recent years, the global demand for electricity in data centers and semiconductor factories has been increasing*2, raising concerns about the tight supply and demand of electricity. From these perspectives, in addition to stabilizing the power infrastructure, it is crucial issue to sustainably supply green and stable electricity to large-scale power consumers such as data centers. As a solution, amidst the increasing demand for grid and industrial storage batteries and on-site power sources, the development of digital infrastructure utilizing advanced technologies requires substantial initial investment and strategic financing, necessitating a supporting funding scheme.*2 Source: International Energy Agency (IEA). (2025). Energy and AI World Energy Outlook Special Report.Agreement Details Based on the MoU and Future OutlookThe three companies will jointly explore funding schemes that best meet the substantial financial needs required to deliver a shared vision of “developing next-generation green digital infrastructure” in Japan. Additionally, we will proceed with specific considerations for establishing a joint venture targeting business operations in the Japanese market. Moving forward, through these initiatives, we will invite diverse partners, including energy infrastructure providers, data center developers/operators, equipment manufacturers regarding infrastructure, to collaboratively build environmentally-friendly digital infrastructure, thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.Hitachi CEO of AI & Software Services Business Unit Yoshinori Hosoya said: “Hitachi is currently working toward the realization of a harmonized society where the environment, wellbeing, and economic growth are in balance by mobilizing the full capabilities of the Hitachi Group and building ecosystems with a diverse range of partners to accelerate the resolution of social challenges. Among these challenges, balancing the growing global demand for energy with decarbonization is one of the most urgent issues. HONG KONG, July 17, 2025 - (ACN Newswire via SeaPRwire.com) - The 35th HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair opened yesterday alongside the 8th HKTDC Sports and Leisure Expo and the 5th HKTDC World of Snacks. The three events, which have attracted more than 770 exhibitors, are running until 22 July at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).To reinforce Hong Kong's position as a regional intellectual property (IP) trading centre, the HKTDC is hosting a series of onsite sales and cultural activities during the fairs. Notably, today’s IP Roundtable and International Publishing Forum provide a platform for industry professionals from 12 countries and regions to explore market trends and exchange insights. Both events are sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), attracting an audience of over 220 publishing professionals and enthusiasts and further strengthening Hong Kong's role as a regional IP trading centre.Organised by the HKTDC and co-organised by the Hong Kong Reprographic Rights Licensing Society (HKRRLS), the IP Roundtable ran under the theme “A Forward-Looking Copyright Framework – How to Balance Interests Between Innovation and IP Protection”, focusing on how different regions are developing forward-looking copyright frameworks in response to the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI). This year’s event introduced a new business matching session that facilitated over 70 meetings to promote copyright trading and generate commercial opportunities for participants. The event opened with welcome remarks from Jenny Koo, Assistant Executive Director of the HKTDC, followed by opening remarks from Dr Sharon Wong, Executive Director, HKRRLS, who also moderated the discussion session. The panel discussion featured five distinguished speakers from the UAE, Belgium, Singapore, Japan and the United Kingdom, including Majd Hassan Al Shehhi, Director of The Emirates Reprographic Rights Management Association (ERRA); Sarah Tran, Head of Regional Policy and Public Affairs of the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO); Andrew Fong, CEO of the Copyright Licensing and Administration Society of Singapore (CLASS); Toshimichi Ishijima, Secretary General of the Japan Academic Association for Copyright Clearance (JAC); and James Bennett, Head of Rightsholder Relations of The Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA).Majd Hassan Al Shehhi, Director of ERRA, said: “The Hong Kong Book Fair brings together publishers from different places.

Finance

Goldman Sachs
